Fête en Blanc at Goodale Park

Please join Fête en Blanc at GOODALE PARK, in the Short North, for an evening of friends, feasting, and fun under the night sky. The entry point will be set up on the Gazebo side of the park, near Park and Lincoln Street. You can arrive at 6:30 to start setting up.

Sous la pluie, sous le soliel…

As with all good outdoor events, eyes start turning toward the weather websites as we get closer to Fête.  While things look pretty good thus far, we do want to remind guests that we Fête in rain or shine, assuming we do not experience a hurricane.  If the weather looks a little grey on Friday, just plan accordingly. (But fingers crossed we have clear skies!)

Ooh, La, La…Macarons!

As if amazing picnic baskets from The Hills Market and Huffman’t Market weren’t enough, Pistacia Vera has also joined with Fête en Blanc to offer macron packages sold as 6 or 12 piece assortments. They’re also offering a 15% discount to customers who are attending Fête.  In addition to macarons, they are suggesting their Summer Plum Almond Frangipan Tart and Fresh Lemon Tart as great picnic dessert fare.  All orders can be placed by calling 614.220.9070 and can be picked up at the store on August 10th.

Tote Bag Distribution This Weekend

Bonjour, Fête-attendees! If you’ve purchased a Fête en Blanc tote bag with your ticket and would like to have it before the event, come find one of our hosts at the Cup O’ Joe Clintonville (2990 N. High St.)  this Sunday, July 29th, from 4:30 to 6:00pm.

And don’t worry, if you can not pick up your tote at any of our distribution points, we’ll have them available on August 10th at check-in.

Two Weeks to Go!

We’re just two short weeks away from Fête en Blanc 2012!  Help us support Local Matters and join us for a fabulous outdoor picnic!

Tips and Helpful Hints

Greetings, Fête fans!

We’ve had some questions regarding the specifics of Fête, and for those of you that didn’t attend last year, we want to share some tips and hints. Hopefully, this will make your Fête planning go a little smoother, so that you’ll be ready on August 10th when we reveal the location.

• Tables are required (and white tablecloths), and we recommend standard-sized card tables. They’ll be lined up next to each other in long rows, so you’ll be sitting across from your date.  If you’re coming in a group, we’d suggest that you arrive/enter together, so you can be close to each other–but half the fun is sitting next to and meeting new friends, so keep that in mind!
• Chairs don’t have to be white (unlike the Parisian event!) but we’re discouraging the use of those tailgating fabric chairs-in-a-bag. (We’re more than a football town, after all!)
• If you’re concerned about transporting all of your supplies, we’d suggest wagons or those collapsible wheeled carts that are used for luggage or large boxes. Don’t worry, there’ll be parking near the location, so guests won’t have to carry their picnic gear across town.
• There will not be a tent, and we’ll hope that there won’t be any need for one. We plan to dine under the stars!
• We’ll tweet/email/Facebook/post on this website the location of Fête sometime between 3-3:30 on Friday, August 10th.

If you’ve been wondering where you’ll find the time to put together the perfect French feast for Fête en Blanc, worry no more!  We’ve partnered with two amazing Central Ohio  markets–The Hills Market and Huffman’s Market–to create a variety of meals that will bring out your inner Francophile.

To explore their menu offerings, click on the tab marked “Picnic Providers” above.  If you see something you like, call and place your order and they’ll have your meals available for pickup at the Fête location.  Just note that they each need 72 hours advance notice, so we’d recommend placing your order before August 8th.

As they are two of Columbus’ great gourmet food purveors, we’re thrilled that they’re  working with Fête to bring a taste of Paris to this year’s celebration! Allons-y!
